The Abide Retreat is designed for campus ministers seeking rest, renewal, and deeper abiding with Christ. Thanks to the generosity of a grant, this experience is heavily subsidized for participants.

The fee covers room, board, and content for the retreat from Friday through Sunday. Lunch on Sunday not included.


The retreat will begin at 6:00 PM on Friday and conclude by 12:00 PM on Sunday, offering two days of silence, prayer, and reflection alongside peers in ministry.


Facilitator: Ryan O’Hara - With 25+ years of ministry experience with college students and young adults, Ryan O’Hara continues to serve the Church across the country through speaking, consulting, and podcasting. A trusted and sought after teacher he has spoken at FOCUS’ annual SEEK Conference, been featured as an expert on evangelization with Revive Parishes, served as a guest on Ascension’s popular Bible Timeline Show, and written for a variety of Catholic publications on foster care and adoption. Through Better Preach, his weekly podcast on developing and delivering great Catholic talks, he has interviewed many of the strongest speakers and leaders in the Church today and provides innovation and inspiration for the renewal of preaching in the Church today. Ryan is passionate about seeing Catholics center their lives on Jesus Christ and become disciples who generously live and share their faith with others. He has a B.A. in History from William Jewell College and an M.A. in Theology from the University of Notre Dame. Ryan and his wife Jill live in West St Paul, MN, and are parents to four teenage and young adult sons.


Spiritual Guide: Fr. Paul Heric - A committed and compassionate priest of the Diocese of Spokane, Washington. He currently serves as the Director of the St. Thomas More Catholic Student Center at Washington State University, where he has dedicated his ministry to serving college students and fostering their spiritual growth. With over 12 years of experience in evangelization and discipleship, Fr. Heric has passionately committed himself to guiding young adults in deepening their faith and encountering the transformative power of the Gospel.

At the core of his priestly ministry is a profound belief that Jesus Christ is essential for living a fulfilled and meaningful life. Fr. Heric emphasizes the importance of bold and courageous proclamation of the Gospel, which he sees as a pathway to healing, restoration, and renewal for individuals and communities alike. His approach is characterized by a sincere desire to lead others into a personal encounter with Christ, inspiring them to live out their faith with conviction and joy.

Fr. Heric is particularly known for his dynamic preaching and teaching, especially during retreats, where he combines insightful biblical teaching with a heartfelt sense of humor.
